If you are reading this, and you don't know what an Aurora Slot Car is, no worries, we will tell you all about it! Aurora slot cars were sold in the sixties and early seventies, and later too. The slot cars known as "Thunderjet", also commonly referred to as "T-Jets", are HO scale and they run on a slot car track that is three inches wide. I received an Aurora slot car set for Christmas in 1968. My set had two "Wild Ones" cars, the white Camaro with blue stripes, and the white Mustang with red stripes.

I kept the slot car set all these years, and a few years ago I brought the set out of storage because I wanted to show "the race track" to my son! I was worried the cars and track might not work any more after being stored for so long. But, to my amazement, the cars still worked just fine after tuning them up and cleaning the track.

After my son and I set the track up we began to wonder if it was possible to still buy any Aurora slot cars or track. We were kind of surprised to learn there is so much Aurora slot car stuff available on eBay. We were able to pick up some specialty track and cars that I had always wanted as a kid.
My favorite cars are the 41 Willy's Gassers, but there are many others that I like too so it's a tough call sometimes, I really like them all. If you like Aurora slot cars too, send an email ✉ to us and tell us your story!
We have a selection of slot car pictures and videos that we would like to share with everyone. Enjoy!
