Aurora Slot Car Race Video #8
This Aurora slot car race is between an orange AMX (Thunderjet) and a purple 1970 Chevelle (Model Motoring body on a T-Jet chassis). This time we kept the camera stationary and my son raced the Chevelle and I raced the AMX.
There are some unplanned funny moments in this video that maybe only slot car enthusiasts would appreciate. They are mainly from putting one of the cars back on the track several times, wrecks in the same spot, and one car jumping to the other drivers lane. It was fun.
You may notice that during portions of this race the cars are going opposite directions. Many years ago when I played with this Aurora slot car set, I built a switch box that is located between the transformer and the terminal track. You can barely see it in the right side of the video. At any time you can face your car the other direction, and at the flip of a switch, drive the other way.
This is a nice look at these two cars.
We don't have many Model Motoring car bodies but we had a hankerin' to get a "purple" car since it's kind of an unusual and neat looking color.
