Aurora Slot Car Pictures ~ Pairs of Cars
Here we have pictures of pairs of slot cars in various positions throughout the track. Many of the pairs were featured in the slot car race videos.

Mustang and Camaro in the cobra turn. Two "Wild Ones".

Note the treacherous intersection in the foreground. Sadly, there will be a few accidents at that dangerous location. ;-)

A closer look...

The red McLaren Elva I either bought or received as a gift in 1969. I bought the yellow McLaren Elva off of eBay and gave the car to my son for Christmas. The car is in excellent condition.

A nice look at these two cars zipping through the "Y" track.
We are going to build some type of landscaping thing to fit nicely inside the "Y" track instead of using track supports which look fairly tacky!

Another look.

Runnin' past the pit stop.

A nice look at the Dune Buggy and the Ford J.

Both cars in the cobra turn.

Another angle.

Yet another angle.

A bird's eye view.

AMX and Chaparral on an incline.

Headed into the cobra turn!

Hang a quick right!

From another angle.

Unfortunately the Chaparral driver is missing his head. It was broken off in an attempt to run through a "Loop the Loop" track in 1968 or 1969. Wouldn't it be nice to have a dollar for every Aurora slot car that was damaged trying to make it through a "Loop the Loop" track...

Willy's Gasser and Camaro in a tight "S" turn!

This is one of our favorite pictures! What a great look at the Camaro and Willy's Gasser in turn one.
Unfortunately the Camaro is missing the back bumper. I cannot find it anywhere and I would predict it was lost years ago.
We should mention that turn one is a fifteen inch radius curve, so you can really fly through the turn!

Here is a nice picture of the Camaro and Willy's Gasser driving up an incline.

Both cars driving carefully down the cobra turn!

A nice Corvette and Willy's Gasser glide down the cobra track.

Dune Buggies with white wall tires... Oh well, the tires sure are grippy!
But the tires sure do get dirty quickly, even after cleaning the track!
After working with these pictures I remembered that years ago I heated the top of the green Dune Buggy so I could flair the top upwardly at the back.

The Dune Buggies can fly through the cobra turn without too much trouble.

Racing past the pit stop!

If you look closely at the yellow Dune Buggy you can see the driver's side front fender through the Dune Buggy's windshield. Almost as if you were sitting in the front seat.
The roll bar on the yellow Dune Buggy is one we made out of hobby wire. It's handy that the wire already has a nice glossy black finish so there is no need to have to paint it. However, the roll bar you see was the third one we made before it lined up right with the holes.

A good looking view of the AMX and Chevelle.

Nice angle view of these two cars.
We don't have many Model Motoring car bodies but we had a hankerin' to get a "purple" car since it's kind of an unusual and neat looking color.

A wider view of the cobra turn.

A quick drive past the Chevelle's pit stop.

AMX and Willy's Gasser.

A couple of cool cars!

Good look at the Mustang and Willy's Gasser.
